Pando vs Rapidshare

I've been testing out Pando for a while now, trying to see if its a viable option for media distribution. There are plenty of other people that have done in-depth reviews, so in a nutshell, Its uses the P2P model for people to send files to each other. It has 256 bit encryption. For what I do, it makes sense for when I send files to individual users and I don't want to have to be wide open on BitTorrent to do it. It also serves as an RSS aggregator, and you can put Pando links on your blog or website, but I don't think there is a big enough user base yet to go to all the effort to "pandoise" my blog, but still, it looks promising.

There is a free version (1GB file size limit to send), and a paid version (3Gb size limit), of course. I think most people can get their file sizes under 1GB for personal use. But I could see a media facility having a use for sending batches of files with the 3GB version.

The drawbacks for the free version are definitely the ads! I mean, I am all for them trying to get ad revenue, but its the type of ads that turn me off, all those emoticon adsites that play tiger noises when you mouse over them!

Electric Heathen has suggested to me to use http://www.rapidshare.com/, and I have used www.yousendit.com for some file transfers. But I have bigger problems with those sites than Pando:

1.) Rapidshare has a low file size limit, for the free version anyway.
2.) I despise Rapidshare wait times unless you have a 'pro' account. why I gotta wait 3min. to download something that takes 2 min. to download? So they can show me ads????
6.) If I have 7GB of dub/dnb/hiphop samples to send out... ya think I'm gonna break that up into little chunks for Rapidshare??

Extend your rapidshare.com premium account for free and reset 25 Gigabyte / 5 day download limit with RapidExtreme! It's awesome!!! Download it from here (only 46 KB!).
Important: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is needed
